It's a lesson that I find exceedingly hard to learn. Letting go. Growing up so many of us are taught to be conservative, cautious; we seek the security of a "sure thing" and when we consider taking a risk we learn to "hedge our bets".
But life isn't like that. Sometimes (MOST times) we have to let go first. We have to actually close the door behind us before we can enter into the one that's opening. And yes, the hallway is hell.
Imagine yourself on a journey. Your destination is on the opposite side of a river, so you get in a boat ready to paddle across, excited about what lies on the other side...but the boat is tethered to a tree on the shore. You know you must untie it in order to make it across the river. As you stare ahead at your destination, you see all kinds of potential risks - there seems to be an undercurrent - will the boat capsize? Will it be carried downstream? Are you strong enough to make it across? You see shadows under the surface - are there dangerous creatures in the river, ready to attack you?
Is it worth the risk? Maybe this side of the river isn't so bad. What if the destination isn't all you think it is?
The fact is, as long as you stay tethered to shore, you'll never know. And, as long as you stay on the bank of the river, unsure of whether to stay or to go, you cannot enjoy either.
Life presents us with many crossroads. We must choose a direction and continue. Staying paralyzed at the crossroads, unable to move forward, keeps us from our destination. Worse still, we cannot even be content
in the place we are standing. Either path holds a promise of tomorrow. Neither path is wrong. But we MUST choose.
This is Lisa's Leap. Letting go. Choosing a path. Staying committed to the path I choose. Keeping the faith that my path will lead to the destination I am meant to reach. Having enough confidence in myself to believe that I can overcome the challenges along the way. And believing - that letting go is not a betrayal of what was, but a gesture of gratitude and love.
May you be happy...xoxo

Leaping Into a Passion-Filled Life
Welcome to Lisa's Leap! I believe that living a passion-filled life is not only possible, it is what we were all intended to do. It is our birthright.
For too long now I have "intended" to create the kind of life that I dream of - a life filled with passion and excitement, a life that would set a positive example of all that is possible for my daughter. I want to wake up inspired and go to bed grateful. I want to honor my values and priorities, rather than abandoning them in the day to day fray of mediocre survival.
Will you join me on this quest?
If you're ready to accept the challenge, we will take the journey together. We will motivate and inspire each other, cheer each other on, and celebrate our victories together.
Join me on this quest for success and a life filled with passion and excitement!
Next post, I'll share with you a few of my goals. And, if you choose to make this leap with me, I welcome you to share a few of your own.
May every leap you take bring you greater passion, joy, & fulfillment!
